Simon Anderson Takes 2 Firsts and a Second at the World Masters in Canada

Congratulations go to Simon Anderson for coming first in cross country, then in the indoors coming first in the 1500m and second in the 3000m (Veteran 45). The following report is written by Simon:

Simon AndersonArrived Sunday evening. Ran XC on the Monday, finished first - unexpected. Times on power of 10 incorrect was about 27 mins. The course suited me - flat and good grass. Often would have been snow on ground but Kamloops has had a very mild winter this year with day time temps getting up to 12/13 when we were there.

3K Thursday finish 2nd, 7 seconds behind Francis an American,  9:15.5 disappointing time but had stomach cramps Wednesday night and couldn't sleep.Qualifying 1500m Friday - easy run.

1500m final Saturday - came first 4:10.21. Felt this was a good race. with the American who won the 3K and the Canadian who had come third in the 800m. Had bad start but overtook the American with 3 laps to go and came up to the shoulder of the Canadian. Went past the Canadian with 400 to go. He started to come back at me with 200 to go then I kicked again winning by 2 seconds in the end.
